The story of Star Wars is known
around the world. The age-old battle between the Jedi and the Sith seemingly
comes to an end when Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker turns against the Jedi order,
joins the Sith, and destroys his old life, and emerges anew as Darth Vader. But
what would happen, if Anakin never joined the Sith?
It was down
to this. Jedi Master Mace Windu was in a struggle to the death with Chancellor
Palpatine, who was just ousted as the Sith Lord Darth Sidious. Anakin Skywalker
looks on, unsure of what to do. Help Master Windu to take down the Sith, or
help the Sith lord, who promises to teach Anakin all that he knows in order
that he protects the love of his life, Padme Amidala. Should he abandon the
Jedi, who he had been with for most of his life, and were like his family, all
to save the love of his life, or take the uncertain path with the Jedi. It was
time for him to make his decision, and no matter what he chose; things would
never be the same.
“Its time
to end this” Master Windu stated. “I agree” Anakin said as he pushed his light
saber through the heart of the Sith lord. “Better for me to do it, than for a
Jedi Master, and a member of the Jedi Council to lower himself to killing”
Anakin said. “Then lets go report this to the council, as well as the senate.
Lets first retrieve the security footage from this office to back up our
testimony of what happened” Master Windu replied as they both walked over to
the chancellor’s desk to retrieve the information.
Later, at
the Jedi council chamber:
“Disturbing
this is” Jedi Master Yoda started, “A big Sith plot, The whole Clone War has
been since the start”. “And now that there is no more Chancellor, the senate
will be in disarray, there will be mass panic, and many will have a hard time
believing that Palpatine was a Sith lord the entire time” Master Obi-Wan Kenobi
said. We will need to bring this before
the Senate, but we still do not know who knew what Palpatine was, and who will
fight against us. These are troubling times indeed.” he added. “Time to act, it
is” Yoda said “Wait for us, the senate does”.
The Jedi
council went before the senate to testify why one of their own had killed the
chancellor. After a long senate session, aided by the security footage brought
forth by Master Windu, and Knight Skywalker, the Jedi was absolved of any
wrongdoings. Soon after, with no real leadership now that the Sith were
destroyed, the separatists lost the Clone Wars, and the galaxy was united as
one republic. Many new laws were passed with input from the former separatist
systems. Behind newly appointed Chancellor Amidala, the galaxy was entering a
time of long needed peace.
There were
certain changes made in the Jedi Order as well. Although Anakin Skywalker broke
a sacred rule by taking a wife, and having two children with her, he was
nonetheless made a Jedi Master. Along with that promotion, a new rule was
enacted in the Jedi Order. Previously, many Jedi had left the order because of
forbidden love. In this time of peace, the council allowed Jedi to take
spouses, and have children. There were certain restrictions of course, such as
a Jedi’s family must reside in the Jedi temple, but most accepted this rule. Even
though the intentions are good, the Jedi had forgotten why this rule was
enacted in the first place. With new love, new evil arose in the galaxy, and a
new purpose, for the Jedi of the future.
